What goes wrong with tracks
The rollers ride in the track every time the door moves, so a bent or loose track throws the whole system off. A minor bend can often be tapped back into place. A severely bent or kinked section can't be, and it has to be replaced. Loose mounting brackets are the other common cause. When they work loose, the track shifts out of position and the door starts to bind.
How we fix it
We watch the door travel and note where it catches or drags. If the bend is minor and the roller channel is not collapsed, we tap the track back gradually rather than forcing it in one go. We set the track's distance from the door with a ¼-inch track-to-door spacer. If the channel is collapsed or the section is kinked, tapping won't hold, so we replace that section.
Once the track is straight, we retighten the mounting hardware and run the door through its travel to confirm it moves smoothly. Replacement jobs get new track mounting brackets.

What it costs
Replacing a single track typically runs $150 to $300. We can give you that range on the call, and we confirm the exact number once we see the track and the brackets in person. The quote is settled before any work starts.
When to call us
Call when the door starts sticking, jerking, or pulling to one side. If you can see a bend or a gap where the track has pulled away from the wall, that is usually the cause. Yuma's long cooling season is no time to be stuck with a door that won't close right. Whether it's a quick bend adjustment or a full track replacement, we get the door moving smoothly again.
What to Expect
Put simply, the specifics look like this:
- Disconnect the opener and place the door in the closed position before adjusting the tracks.
